
Business Process Analyst
Job Description
Support the execution of the organization’s Information Governance policies and framework
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, IT, and business units to manage data lifecycle and retention practices
- Assist with the development and maintenance of records retention schedules and taxonomy
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with records management and privacy regulations
- Provide training and guidance to staff on IG policies, procedures, and tools
- Help implement and support IG technology platforms such as FileTrail, Policy Center, or other records management tools
- Manage physical and electronic records in accordance with company policy and legal/regulatory requirements
- Participate in information classification, security, privacy, and data handling initiatives
- Assist in the development of procedures for defensible disposition of data and records
- Support eDiscovery and legal hold processes in collaboration with Legal and IT teams
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to data migration, cloud governance, and unstructured data management
What You Need
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Library Science, Business, or related field
Experience/specific knowledge:
- 5–7 years of experience in information governance, records management, or compliance
- Knowledge and experience working with structured, semi-structured, unstructured data, and data maps
- Expertise with IG tools and technologies (e.g., FileTrail, SharePoint, Microsoft 365)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of and experience with, federal (US, Canada, Mexico) and state/provincial privacy records management, and information-security-related laws, regulations, self-regulatory standards, and industry best practices
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
- Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP) a plus
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent technical skills in Excel, and data management
- Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and commitment to professional growth
