About the opportunity

Applications are invited for eligible medical officers interested in urology to join our team to have a PGY3+ 2027 part time clinical year at Mercy Health (Werribee Campus).

There is one twelve (12) month part time or one six-month full-time position (depending on the needs of the candidate) commencing in February 2027 or later in the year.  

The role will also include HMO after hours (evenings, weekends and nights) cover in general surgery

Mercy Health offer a supported environment where Senior Medical Staff make an effort to know you personally and our HMO education program comprises weekly education session, incorporating simulation workshops and case-based education sessions.

Mercy Health offers the following rotations as a Hospital Medical Officer (PGY3+) - Surgical.

  • Urology

  • General/Specialty Surgery (evening and weekend cover including nights)

       (Sub-Specialties available are; Colorectal, Breast, Endocrine, and Upper GI)

The eligibility standards to apply are in line with Mercy Health Service and are for any individual that falls in the categories below; provided they are eligible for General Medical Registration in Australia:

  • Australian Trained (Permanent Resident) Graduate of a Victorian Medical Faculty

  • Australian Trained (Permanent Resident) Graduate of an Interstate Medical Faculty

  • Temporary Resident Medical Graduate of a Victorian Medical Faculty

  • Temporary Resident Medical Graduate of an Interstate Medical Faculty

  • Australian Medical Council Graduate (who has obtained Permanent Residency and currently hold General Medical Registration in Australia)

  • New Zealand Medical Graduates (Permanent Resident or International full-fee student)

 About You:

  • Hold general registration or meet above eligibility standards as a medical practitioner by commencement of 2027 Clinical Year

  • Equipped with excellent communication skills and promote the Mercy Values of Compassion, Hospitality, Respect, Innovation, Stewardship and Teamwork.

  • Enthusiastic and motivated to make a real contribution to the provision of high quality care to an ethnically diverse, rapidly growing community
