The Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University invites applicants for a Professional Track faculty position in finance, with qualifications to teach undergraduate finance courses beginning in Fall 2026. Specific areas of need are Financial Statement Analysis and Advanced Corporate Finance courses. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility of reappointment in subsequent years contingent on satisfactory performance. The starting rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Professional Track faculty are not eligible for tenure and have a teaching load of six courses per year. Additionally, candidates will be expected to advise students and maintain faculty qualifications consistent with the AACSB accreditation standards. Bucknell values professional track colleagues as full members of the faculty and provides extensive resources to support their growth, including a robust Teaching & Learning Center. Professional track faculty are eligible to vote in University and College faculty meetings and serve on faculty committees.

Faculty in the Freeman College of Management receive annual funding for professional development and scholarly engagement. These funds can support any appropriate professional development activity, including travel and attendance at conferences and workshops for professional growth.

Professional Track faculty are reviewed every three years, with the initial review occurring prior to the third year of the appointment. Excellent teaching is the primary criterion for renewal and promotion. This track includes three successive ranks. Faculty become eligible for promotion to the next rank after six years of service at their current rank. Prior equivalent service may be applied toward promotion.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must possess a graduate degree (or commensurate professional experience) in a field appropriate for teaching undergraduate finance courses such as: Corporate Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, Investments, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.
  • Candidates must have either compiled a record of teaching excellence, or demonstrate potential for teaching excellence.
