Job Description Summary
Under the general supervision of the Coordinator, Manager, or Director, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, processing, and sterilization of instruments used to support physicians and surgical teams in the operating room and other departments as needed. This role requires strict adherence to medical center policies and procedures, as well as compliance with state, local, and federal regulations. The technician plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety and supporting clinical operations through accurate and timely sterile reprocessing.Entity

Job Description

Additional Job Description
Completion of Approved Sterile Processing Tech Program and certification through CRCST - HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution). Minimum of one (1) year of sterile processing experience, preferably in a hospital or surgical setting. Successful completion of the department’s internal written and practical exam, as well as meeting required performance and productivity standards, is required to attain and maintain Sterile Processing II status.
