Position Summary:
The Machine Operator 2’s primary responsibility is to operate production equipment, including but not limited to punch press, press brake, folding machine, turret press, flatbed laser, tube bender, buffing line, CNC mill and saw.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
Accountabilities:
Perform machine setups including calibration and cleaning to start a production cycle.
Sand and deburr parts if necessary.
Tend to the machine and product to ensure quality and proper operation.
Use and interpret gauging equipment to verify product dimensions.
Complete daily machine check sheets and production recording.
Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. speed).
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Ensure quality parts are being produced by making frequent quality checks.
Feed the necessary raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
Load programs and set up tooling in machines.
Qualifications:
2+ years' hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.
Ability to use hand and power tools (e.g., nibblers, power saws).
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Effective communication.
Quality-driven with strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Working knowledge of high-speed production machinery and measurement tools.
Ability to follow first-piece inspection procedures (First Off Green Tag Procedure).
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, protractor and other inspection tools that may be required.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
