We are currently looking for a Contracts Analyst for our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Contracts Analyst is an essential member of Boardwalk’s Legal Department, working with attorneys and internal clients on a wide variety of legal matters. Candidates must work well in a team environment. Representative duties include:
Drafting and Reviewing: preparing and revising/redlining contracts and analyzing terms and conditions to identify potential risks for the company or compliance issues, e.g.:
confidentiality agreements
service agreements
scope of work agreements
purchase order terms and conditions
purchase and sale agreements
Negotiation: negotiating terms and conditions with contractors and suppliers to secure beneficial agreements
Compliance: ensuring contracts meet legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal company policies
Training: providing training on legal procedures, best practices, and company policies to internal stakeholders/clients
Onboarding: assisting with contractor qualification and onboarding, as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with contracts
Strong aptitude in reviewing and redlining contracts
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
Strong understanding of confidentiality principles and business relationships
Experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
Experience in the construction, engineering, or pipeline industries is preferred
Familiarity with litigation process / management is preferred
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Two-year applicable associate degree in a technical field or Bachelor’s Degree
Paralegal Certification
