Your role at a glance
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of data centre construction projects, including new builds, expansions, and renovations.Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.

- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of data centre construction projects, including new builds, expansions, and renovations.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate project resources, including personnel, contractors, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure resource allocation aligns with project needs and budget constraints.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams to ensure that data centre facility designs meet operational, security, scalability, and sustainability requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and report financial performance.
- Identify and address cost-saving opportunities to optimize project spending.
- Identify potential risks associated with data centre construction projects and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project risks and take proactive measures to minimize disruptions.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work complies with design specifications, industry standards, and best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership to align projects with organizational goals and priorities.
- Provide regular project updates, status reports, and milestone assessments.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and construction contractors.
- Negotiate contracts, administer change orders, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Promote safety protocols, environmental responsibility, and sustainability practices in data centre construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors
- Receives objective based assignments and determines resources to meet schedules and goals
- Strong knowledge of data centre facilities, infrastructure, best practices, and industry standards.
- Technical understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, cooling technologies, networking, and security systems related to data centre construction.
- Effective leadership and team management skills, including experience in managing project teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration, stakeholder management, and reporting.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities to address project challenges.
- Familiarity with international regulations and standards related to construction projects.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or related
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred
- Required Experience:
- Advanced experience gained in a similar role within a global IT services organisation
- Advanced experience in project management methodologies, tools, and practices
- Advanced experience managing data centre construction projects
- Advanced experience managing and leading data construction project resources
