An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nuclear Safety Case and Human Factors Manager within the Core Production delivery business unit. As the Nuclear Safety Case Manager , you will lead a team of safety and human factors professionals to deliver safety case outputs for new and existing facilities on the Raynesway licensed sites. You will also act as the Design Authority for nuclear safety-related matters and report on safety case progress, to various business committees, to help drive safety improvements.

What you will be doing:
As the Nuclear Safety Case Manager you will be:
- Leading a team of 20+ safety engineers, criticality advisors and human factors engineers to deliver safety case outputs for new and existing facilities on the Raynesway licensed sites.
- Ensuring safety case outputs are produced and governed in accordance with RRSL management arrangements and ONR licence conditions.
- Acting as the Design Authority for design decisions with nuclear safety implications (subject to formal delegation from the Chief Engineer some time after beginning the role).
- Playing a leading role in LC15 (Periodic Review of Safety) activities.
- Acting as Intelligent Customer for safety case outputs produced by external contractors.
- Providing SME input to Operations to safely enable RRSL manufacturing programmes.
- Reporting on safety case progress and health at various safety committees across the business.
Position qualifications:
- Experience working with nuclear safety cases (directly as a safety case professional or through an interfacing function)
- Experience leading a team and managing delivery of outputs
- Relevant Engineering/Science degree
Preferred requirements:
- Detailed understanding of nuclear safety case methodologies and their implementation.
- Understanding of the human factors contribution to nuclear safety.
- Experience working on projects at varying lifecycle stages.
- Experience with regulator interactions.
