Are you an outgoing, cheerful person passionate about making a difference in others' lives? We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our dynamic team! As a DSP, you will support and encourage individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Encouraging Social Interaction - Plan and participate in social and recreational activities that promote engagement and interaction, ensuring clients have fun and feel included.
- Empower Independence: Work collaboratively with clients to set and achieve personal goals, offering guidance and encouragement along the way
- Build Relationships: Develop trusting relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, preferences, and personalities.
- Provide Transportation: Assist clients with transportation to appointments, community events, and social gatherings, ensuring they have opportunities to explore and engage with their community.
- Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate records of client progress, incidents, and services provided, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Support Daily Living Skills: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.
- Money Management
- Note: This Client has a small, friendly service dog.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a DSP, DCW, CNA, and Home Health Aide
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to connect with individuals of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
