Job Description

We are seeking a Service Delivery Technician to serve as a central point of contact for CyrusOne clients while supporting daily operational logistics within our Aurora, IL data center. This role combines customer support, ticket management, and hands-on shipping/receiving responsibilities to ensure smooth facility operations and a high level of service delivery.
The Service Delivery Technician is responsible for responding to client requests received via phone, email, and monitoring systems, accurately logging and managing tickets, and taking ownership of issues through resolution. In addition, this role supports non-complex IT and facility-related tasks, including shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and assisting with basic technical work such as racking and stacking equipment.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and flexibility. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrates a strong customer service mindset, and is eager to learn and grow into more technical responsibilities over time.

Essential Functions:  

  • Manage shipping and receiving operations, including accepting inbound customer shipments, labeling, and processing materials accurately
  • Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks and assist with occasional forklift use (if trained)
  • Record shipment data such as weight, charges, and tracking details; maintain accurate shipping/receiving reports
  • Monitor and manage ticket queues and email requests, ensuring timely updates and resolution within SLAs
  • Support internal material movement and inventory management across the data center
  • Assist with inventory tasks including tracking enclosures, cage materials, cabling, tools, and other supplies
  •  Help maintain cleanliness and organization of loading dock and storage areas (including waste removal)
  • Provide escort support for customers and visitors within the facility
  • Assist with basic technical tasks such as racking and stacking servers under guidance (Tech II support)
  • Perform tape rotation/exchange and other operational support tasks as required
  • Collaborate with team members in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift quickly

What We Are Looking For:

Required

  • • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and customers
  • • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with shifting priorities
  • • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • • Basic computer skills (email, ticketing systems, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • • Willingness to learn and take initiative without needing constant direction
  • • Flexibility with schedule, including occasional shift adjustments (e.g., 2pm–10pm coverage)
  • • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending)

Work Environment:

  • Location: Aurora, IL
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs, with shifts that may include: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Occasional 2pm–10pm shift (approximately once per month)
  • Travel: Occasional travel to nearby data centers (e.g., Lombard, Wood Dale)
  • Team Environment:Small, collaborative team
  • Physically active role involving lifting, walking and working on loading dock
  • Must be able to accomplish all physical requirements and activities applicable to the role.

               

Education:

  • Minimum education requirement of High-School diploma or GED equivalent. College degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience

Hourly Rate: $23-$26/hr
