Available to teach a morning aqua Zumba class and evening Zumba class each week, with a focus on creating fun, engaging classes that promote fitness, confidence, and community.
Fitness Instructor Job Description
JOB SPECIFIC INFORMATION
- Prepares lesson plans and selects exercises to meet program objectives
- Select and set up required materials and equipment for each class
- Plans routines, chooses music and selects movements for muscle groups
- Demonstrates proper breathing techniques during physical activity
- Takes attendance, welcomes participants, and maintains accurate class lists
- Provides varied exercises to accommodate different fitness levels
- Ensures participant safety and notifies management of serious incidents
- Puts away materials and maintains a clean, organized environment
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Lead energetic and engaging Zumba and Aqua Zumba classes for participants of varying fitness levels
- Create safe, effective, and fun workout experiences that encourage member participation and retention
- Demonstrate proper movement techniques and provide modifications when needed
- Arrive prepared with music, routines, and class equipment set up before each session
- Foster a welcoming and positive environment that builds community and motivation

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or G.E.D.; college-level coursework in physical education or kinesiology preferred- Minimum one to two years of experience leading fitness, exercise, or conditioning programs
- Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
- CPR and AED Certification required within six months of employment
