Job Description
We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and articulate Project Analyst to coordinate projects related to the Affordable Care Act. The ideal candidate has an eye for understanding process nuance and policy and will work closely with CMS stakeholders to drive initiatives based on business needs, innovation, and requirements. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong verbal communication and professionalism.
The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter, work independently with limited guidance, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. This role requires exceptional writing skills to produce clear standard operating procedures, briefs, and various deliverables, along with a methodical approach to tracking, managing, and resolving risks, issues, and action items. The ideal candidate can also leverage basic data analytics to provide clearer insight into performance and other trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Author high quality deliverables such as standard operating procedures, project briefs, and status reports that are clear, concise, and professional.
- Use data analysis to track project metrics, identify bottlenecks, and add context to discussions to briefs.
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and organize information.
- Gather and document requirements. Explain them to stakeholders and seek feedback.
- Take high quality meeting notes.
- Manage communication, coordinate and track the progress and performance of tasks according to the project schedule
- Document and proactively manage project Risks, Issues and Actions, Lessons Learned, and Process Improvements
- Maintain an organized repository of project information and data on the internal Teams channels and SharePoint sites and external SharePoint sites. Lead version control.
- Ensure project remains compliant with all policy, processes, and guidelines.
- Communication with internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Lead team members and stakeholders to anticipate and manage changes to multiple projects, such as but not limited to, technical requirements, business requirements and schedule.
- Drive innovation and work proactively.
- Participate in configuration management of deliverables and orchestrate early or on time quality and trackable submissions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent OR 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience working on project/programs supporting government contracts or 9 years relevant experience without a degree.
- Must be a US Citizen and a resident of the US for at least the last 3 years.
- 5 years experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote)
- Excellent SharePoint skills
- Master of verbal and written communication skills (clear, concise, professional)
- Strong stakeholder management
- Meticulous approach to documentation and follow-up
- Solid analytical skills and ability to utilize SharePoint and Excel as the primary means for reporting

- Strong experience interfacing with government customers to understand, interpret, and analyze requirements. Experience working on government contracts is strongly desired.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. Must exhibit excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be capable of working in an environment that is demanding, sometimes stressful and requires independent thinking with minimal direct oversight by senior management.
- A polished, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills. Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Experience with CMMI/AIMM processes and standards.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Visio or other diagramming tools.
Preferred qualifications:
- CAPM or PMP - OR working towards PMP, CAPM, or ScrumMaster
- Affordable Care Act experience
- Experience with governance, compliance and accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508)
