Valency is the home for people-centered, AI-accelerated research. Valency Bond connects your AI assistant to tens of millions of research papers. You can ideate and discover knowing that your reasoning agent always has the context it needs, using the most up-to-date research available.

We're based in Berkeley, California, and we're building something that matters. If you care about open science, advancing research at the speed of thought, and using AI to accelerate discovery, we'd love to talk.

Our team is hybrid. We come together in person 3 days a week, with the option for 2 days of remote work.

The Position: Entry-level Software Engineer (Full-stack)

You'll learn with the team and ship features across the stack.

What you'll do:

• Build small features end-to-end (frontend + backend). Learn from experienced engineers. Use AI coding tools to accelerate your learning. Pair program. Ask questions. Ship to production. Grow your skills. Help build the future of research infrastructure.

Who You Are

• You have 0-2 years of experience.

• You have a strong educational background in CS or related fields.

• You're already using AI coding assistants.

• You're a team player with a growth mindset.

• You're excited about open science and building infrastructure that advances human knowledge.
