Job Description
Thompson Facilities Service is seeking an experienced and motivated Grounds Manager to oversee the maintenance, appearance, and safety of our college campus grounds. This position supervises grounds personnel and manages landscaping, athletic field maintenance, snow removal, irrigation systems, and seasonal campus beautification projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, knowledge of landscape management, and experience maintaining large institutional or commercial properties.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily grounds maintenance operations
- Manage landscaping, mowing, pruning, planting, and turf care
- Oversee maintenance of athletic fields, sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor common areas
- Schedule and supervise grounds crew assignments and contractors
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of grounds equipment and irrigation systems
- Coordinate snow and ice removal during inclement weather
- Monitor inventory and purchase supplies, materials, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with campus safety standards and environmental regulations
- Assist with campus events setup and outdoor facility preparation
- Prepare work reports, schedules, and maintenance documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in horticulture, landscaping, facilities management, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of groundskeeping or landscape management experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and landscaping practices
- Ability to operate commercial landscaping equipment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
