Interventional Radiology Opportunities 

 

Our Interventional Radiology department is a fast-paced environment that include high acuity patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our Interventional Radiology leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.  

 

Interventional Radiology:  

Patient Population: Adult- Inpatient and Outpatient 

Patient Ratios: 1:1, 2:1

Department Specifics:Pre, intra and post procedure care for various medical conditions in a minimally invasive setting that uses radiologic imaging. Utilize newest innovations and technology. Great area for nurses looking for a niche specialty.  

Shift: PRN Days

Requirements: Must have 2+ years of ER or ICU experience // will train with 3-5 or more years in ICU or ER – prefers 2+ years IR experience

Job Summary

As an Interventional Radiology RN, use nursing expertise to deliver patient care with the healthcare team. Tasks include evaluating health, identifying issues, creating care plans, and tracking treatment responses. Help patients navigate their healthcare safely. Use knowledge of needs to prevent issues.

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Prioritizing patient and family needs is crucial. Responsibilities involve developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans. Adjust as needed.
  • Making a safe place for patients, families, staff is vital.
  • This includes maintaining confidentiality and voicing patient concerns when necessary.
  • The successful candidate will manage learning for patients and families. They will help nursing staff grow. Knowledge sharing in the health care team and community is also promoted.
  • The perfect candidate partners effectively with team members and the community to implement a cohesive care plan.
  • The candidate must recognize limited resources and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
  • Encourage professional growth by creating a positive work environment. Support peers' professional development. Participation in continued education and community service is valued.

Key Success Factors

  • A basic understanding of the patient care practices, medical terminology, medications, and equipment used in interventional radiology nursing.
  • You must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to engage with different groups effectively.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving for providing optimal patient care.
  • The ability to track changes in patients' health and communicate clearly with nurses and doctors.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly knowledge of electronic medical documentation systems and email.

Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of ER or ICU experience // will train with 3-5 or more years in ICU or ER – prefers 2+ years IR experience

Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program

License/Certifications

o RN – Registered Nurse

o BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
