General Manager, Bakery
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Recruit, select and retain qualified team members
• Identify, investigate and assess issues as they arise in the business
• Manage inventory and order product as required
• Reconcile previous performance and address improvement plans
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment at all times in accordance with bakery and health department standards and ensure proper safety procedures are being followed
• Ensure that the Ecolab (Pest Elimination & Chemical) standards are consistently maintained
• Manage unscheduled bakery maintenance as needed
• Prepare for and recover from peak customer demands by adjusting labor plan and deployment as necessary
• Execute shift changes and conduct daily opening/closing to ensure bakery is clean and ready for business
• Ensure the timely resolution of customer complaints / issues; report major concerns to Direct Report
• Cross-train team members and develop/maintain an effective cross-training program
• Complete performance appraisals as required and provide team members with performance feedback

• Ensure interior/exterior of bakery is clean and well maintained
• Inform team members of marketing initiatives and campaigns
• Manage cash by utilizing Bakery cash control and accounting procedures, ensure daily cash deposits are accurate and deposited at bank
• Develop and maintain appropriate labor schedules consistent with sales forecasts and budgets
• Ensure bakery compliance with all audit requirements (e.g., inventory and cash control)
◦ Must be able to lift, move & carry up to 50 pounds
◦ Frequent walking, bending, kneeling and reaching
◦ Able to stand for extended periods of time
Five years of prior retail or hospitality experience with a luxury brand and three years of supervisory or management experience are required; a hospitality management degree is preferred.
