Job Description

General Description The Water Truck Driver operates a water truck on construction sites to supply water for landscaping needs—such as trees, plants, and sod—as well as other site-related tasks. This role requires a Class B CDL and involves daily inspections, safe operation, and coordination with site crews to ensure smooth project execution. Key Duties Drive a water truck to provide water for construction site use. Responsible for watering new landscape such as trees, plants and sod. Perform daily safety checks and vehicle inspections for leaks and damage. Refuel and maintain the truck in proper working order. Transport construction materials and water as needed. Ensure the vehicle is clean and operational at the end of each shift. Follow proper procedures for startup, shutdown, and lockout. Work closely with other crew members using hand signals for coordination and safety. Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, contractors, and vendors. Understand production requirements and follow project instructions. Report any vehicle repair needs to the supervisor. Perform additional duties as assigned within other crafts. Qualification Requirements Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Class B CDL required with an acceptable driving record within company MVR policy guidelines. 3–5 years of experience as a Water Truck Driver or related position preferred. Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with site supervisors and team members. Physical Demands: Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout an 8-hour shift. Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistance. Maintain constant alertness on a busy construction site with multiple ongoing activities. Walk on uneven surfaces in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely climb on and off heavy mobile equipment. Work Environment Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Exposure to high noise levels, dust, grease, and moving machinery. Regularly works near heavy equipment and construction zones. Contact with various construction materials, including fuel, oils, asphalt, and concrete.
