The Test Technician supports production and engineering operations by maintaining and operating test equipment, server systems, and testing infrastructure. This role is responsible for setting up and executing product tests, troubleshooting and repairing failed test units, recording test data, and ensuring the availability of tools and spare parts. The Test Technician works closely with Engineering to resolve technical issues, support the production line, and maintain efficient, high-quality testing processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, and support engineering test equipment, tools, and server room assets.
Coordinate and actively participate in testing processes, including setting up new test stations, prioritizing tasks, and executing product tests.
Perform repair activities and root-cause/fault analysis on failed test products.
Record test and maintenance data using both manual and electronic systems.
Provide production support and work closely with Test and Engineering teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the production line to ensure uninterrupted testing and manufacturing operations.
Communicate relevant technical information and issues to the Engineering Department and direct supervisor in a timely manner.
Carry out installation and setup tasks as required.
Monitor server and system operations related to testing infrastructure.
Notify Engineering promptly when spare parts or consumables are nearing depletion.
Ensure the safe, proper, and damage-free use of tools and high-value components and maintain their availability.
Scope of Authority
Decision-Making Authority
Responsible for maintaining the quality and accuracy of assigned tasks and processes in accordance with established procedures.
Communication Authority
Authorized to report technical issues, process deviations, and operational problems directly to the immediate supervisor.
Delegated Authority
Authorized to perform routine maintenance, testing, and installation tasks independently, following approved work instructions.
Permitted to escalate technical issues and propose process improvements directly to the Engineering team.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum secondary education or equivalent.
Proficiency in technical English.
User-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Server 2016.
Key Skills
Basic knowledge of computer networks.
Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
