Job Description
Position Summary
The Director of Logistics is responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of all packaged goods transportation across the United States, Canada, and cross-border lanes. This role provides leadership to regional Logistics teams, drives freight cost optimization, ensures excellent customer service, and partners cross-functionally to develop optimal sourcing and distribution strategies.
Position is based at our Rosemont office and will require a local candidate for 3x/week on-site working.
The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $165,000-$190,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Reports to: Vice President Logistics
Direct Reports: Logistics Manager – United States; Logistics Manager – Canada
Responsibilities
Transportation Strategy & Cost Management
Develop and execute a North American transportation strategy balancing cost, service, and capacity.
Drive freight cost reduction through carrier negotiations, network optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Establish and manage transportation budgets, forecasts, and savings targets.
Operational Oversight
Provide leadership and direction to U.S. and Canadian transportation teams.
Oversee daily transportation performance, service levels, and exception management.
Ensure compliance with all U.S., Canadian, and cross-border transportation regulations.
Data, Analytics & KPI Management
Own transportation KPIs sourced from the OTM Transportation Management System.
Analyze performance data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Develop and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance.
Collaborate on optimal sourcing strategies, plant-to-customer flows, and network design.
Support new product launches and distribution changes with transportation planning.
Carrier & Vendor Management
Lead carrier sourcing, contracting, and performance management.
Maintain strong relationships with carriers, brokers, and logistics service providers.
Conduct regular performance reviews to ensure service and cost compliance.
Leadership & Development
Develop and mentor transportation leadership team members.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Standardize transportation processes across regions.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of progressive transportation and logistics experience.
Proven experience managing U.S., Canada, and cross-border freight operations.
Strong working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (OTM preferred).
Demonstrated success in freight cost reduction and KPI-driven performance improvement.
Experience leading and developing management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience in packaged goods or consumer products environments.
Knowledge of customs, trade compliance, and cross-border documentation.
