Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC) seeks a senior policy director to lead the Chamber’s policy and advocacy around artificial intelligence, quantum, and robotics. The Senior Director will lead the Chamber’s efforts to ensure U.S. AI leadership by working to establish a national risk-based AI framework, engaging on state legislation, and developing policy on quantum and physical AI.
Responsibilities:
Advise the senior vice president of C_TEC on technology policy matters.
Lead C_TEC’s AI, quantum, and robotics policy work.
Engage with Capitol Hill and regulatory agency staff.
Prepare speeches, background materials, and other communications such as blog posts.
Monitor local, state, federal, and global legislative activity in coordination with the Chamber’s state and international divisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience. J.D. or master’s in public policy preferred.
A passion for emerging technology and promoting private sector-led solutions.
Extensive knowledge of AI and advanced computing.
Experience working with Democratic and Republican lawmakers.
Experience managing and building coalitions.
Knowledge of state and federal legislative and regulatory processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and with government officials, preferably with agencies like the FTC, Department of Commerce, and OSTP.
Strong sense of professionalism and sound judgment.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks while providing high-quality work with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
CIPP/US or CIPP/AI certification preferred.
The salary range for this position is $134,475.00 to $173,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
