We have an opportunity for an operations Director to join our Residential Water Treatment team. You will operate at the systems level to drive growth, profitability, build operational talent, address key operational performance challenges, and implement sustainable standard practices around Lean, leveraging the Pentair Integrated Management Systems (PIMS) to deliver exceptional performance to our customers. 

 

You will:  

·         Key member of business unit leadership team. Partner with core functional leaders (Finance, Engineering, Human Resources and Sales) to meet operational goals. Establish and drive strategic alignment across the business unit through direct leadership of plant managers and in close partnership with the regional leaders. 

·         Lead and mentor plant managers in the development of a Winning Culture. Develop and improve the skills, knowledge, and abilities of the managers to ensure strong succession planning, talent development and talent retention. 

·         Responsible for leading the team of plant managers and functional reports in the planning, directing, and coordinating all global manufacturing and functional operations. 

·         Drive safety culture and implement new and innovative techniques to provide a safe working environment partnering with the EH&S organization. 

·         Drive the quality culture and achieve service level commitment to customers. Set standards and performance metrics in support of the organizational goals and objectives. 

·         Drives a continuous improvement philosophy based on the Toyota Production System (TPS). 

·         Drive financial performance of global operational sites and adjust budget to ensure we meet our commitments. 

·         Meet and exceed year over year financial targets through active continuous improvement projects and driving material and non-material cost out of the business. 

·         Drive projects to deliver materials savings through Value-Add/Value-Engineering projects. 

·         Partner with global sourcing team on Supplier Performance to improve, quality, delivery, and cost. 
• Partner with peers and other leaders to improve operational systems, processes and establish best practices. 
• May be required to perform additional duties and special projects as assigned, including interim operating leadership roles. 

 

Key Qualifications:   

·         Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) or equivalent required (Business, Engineering, or equivalent field preferred). 

·         2+ years’ experience manufacturing and/or engineering which includes direct experience leading others in a manufacturing environment. 

·         P&L experience 

·         Business acumen. Demonstrates knowledge of and analyzes markets and competition. Capable of advising business leadership team. 

·         Experience in a Make to Stock (MTS) 

·         Lead or has had significant experience in operational transformation planning. 

·         Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing. 

·         Strong knowledge of ERPs (JDE or SAP systems ex.) 

·         Computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) 

·         Ability to set strategic direction, and build a sense of shared purpose and vision 

·         Skilled in process management, planning and change management 

·         Ethical. Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values; maintains confidentiality. 

·         Collaborative leadership style. Ability to influence decision making, facilitate groups with diverse perspectives, lead teams to agreement and resolution, and maintain effective work relationships internally and externally. 

·         Change leadership. Possess the ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment. Effectively leads others during times of change. 

·         Approximately 50 % travel to include domestic and international destinations to visit Pentair facilities and various supplier locations. Travel as required by car, air, etc.
