Summary
The Process Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. This is an entry-level role ideal for a recent graduate or someone with internship or co-op experience in materials, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering. The engineer will work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and quality teams to identify opportunities and implement solutions on the shop floor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve current manufacturing processes and workflows
- Assist in the implementation of new equipment and technologies
- Participate in process troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methods
- Collect and analyze production data to recommend improvements
- Document process changes and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize material usage and minimize waste
- Ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards
- Provide technical support to operators and production teams
- Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow evaluations
