
Risk Control Officer

Who You'll Work With:
This role is with the Equities Risk Management team who are responsible for implementing AB's operational risk framework within the Equities SBU. You will work with portfolio management, trading, operations, client service, legal and compliance and enterprise risk management teams.
What You'll Do:
We are seeking a Nashville-based Risk Officer to join our team. The primary focus of this role is error correction, reporting and mitigation. There will also be significant emphasis on the identification, escalation, and mitigation of operational risks outside of errors. To be successful, the candidate must collaborate with teams across the firm to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the best interest of our clients and promote a strong risk culture. This role will report to the Director of Risk for Equities.
- Manage the error/incident resolution process for the Equities department
- Partner with portfolio managers, associate portfolio managers and traders to cover market exposure arising from trading or client account errors
- Communication of risk events to stakeholders including Equities and Investments Infrastructure senior management
- Partner with teams across AB to perform error root cause analysis
- Collaborate with enterprise risk management group to develop and share best practices for managing errors
- Lead error remediation efforts and track progress
- Implement and monitor Key Risk Indicators to track health of key operational process and risk remediations
- Participate in, and lead risk initiatives focused on reducing operational risk
- Deliver risk management training to the department
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in audit, risk or process management
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, math, or engineering
- Intermediate level understanding of the financial markets
- Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills
- Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel / SharePoint / PowerPoint / OneNote)
