Why join us
Joining Argos as a Learning Designer means becoming a crucial part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to revolutionising learning and development experiences. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of the learning design agenda within a lean and agile team environment. For at least the first 12 months, you will be the primary Learning Designer, giving you the chance to have a significant impact on how learning solutions are created, prioritised and delivered across the business. Working collaboratively with stakeholders and leveraging your creativity and instructional design expertise, you will play a key role in developing impactful learning content that enhances the skills and knowledge of our colleagues. At Sainsbury's, we value innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, offering a supportive environment where you can make a real difference and contribute to creating exceptional learning experiences for our workforce.
What you'll do
As a Learning Designer at Argos, you will be responsible for designing and producing exceptional blended learning solutions that promote continuous performance support and ongoing learning through a 70/20/10 approach. Operating within a lean team structure, you will take ownership of the full learning design lifecycle, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will collaborate with learning architects and stakeholders to translate learning architecture into engaging learning experiences, applying instructional design methodologies and creative learning techniques to develop pedagogically sound content for digital and face-to-face learning solutions.
Using tools such as Articulate Rise, Elucidat, Evolve and Storyline, you will create inclusive and accessible learning experiences while independently managing multiple projects and priorities. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity, proactively identifying opportunities, influencing stakeholders and driving learning solutions forward with minimal supervision. Through user-centric design principles, stakeholder engagement and continuous feedback loops, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering innovative learning experiences for colleagues across the organisation.
Who you are
As a Learning Designer at Argos, you are a creative and experienced Learning & Development professional who thrives in a fast-paced, lean environment. You are equally comfortable developing learning strategy, engaging stakeholders and creating high-quality learning solutions from concept through to delivery. You enjoy taking ownership, working independently and making informed decisions while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the business.
With a strong foundation in instructional design methodologies and a focus on user-centred design principles, you excel in creating engaging and effective digital and face-to-face learning content. You are highly organised, self-motivated and resilient, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results with limited day-to-day support. Your ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders and continuously improve learning experiences enables you to drive positive outcomes for learners and the organisation.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable experience designing and developing blended learning solutions, including digital, face‑to‑face, and virtual formats, covering tasks such as user research, storyboarding, content creation, and testing.
- Demonstrable experience working autonomously within a lean team environment, successfully managing multiple learning design projects and stakeholders, prioritising workload effectively, and delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.
