Your Impact at SAM

SAM is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our growing team. We are looking to connect with survey professionals across a variety of experience levels and backgrounds who are passionate about delivering high-quality surveying services and contributing to the success of our clients and teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, review, and oversee survey deliverables including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and right-of-way surveys.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality assurance for survey projects.
  • Coordinate with field and office staff to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Interpret deeds, plats, legal descriptions, easements, and other survey records.
  • Communicate with clients, engineers, contractors, and public agencies.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, as appropriate for experience level.
  • Mentor and develop junior survey staff.
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship efforts, where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations, company standards, and industry best practices.

What You Bring to SAM

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in one or more states, or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
  • Experience in land surveying, with responsibilities appropriate to your career level.
  • Knowledge of survey principles, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and technology such as Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, MicroStation, Carlson, Leica, Trimble, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
