Corporate Affairs Department

The Corporate Affairs department at Blackstone plays a critical role in shaping and guiding the firm's communication strategies, both within the organization and externally. The department is comprised of: Public Affairs, Marketing and Sustainability.

Overview:

Public Affairs is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the firm’s brand, communications to internal and external stakeholders, and developing the strategy for media relations.

The Public Affairs Analyst will support public relations efforts for senior executives, drive internal communications initiatives, and contribute to key firmwide communications projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications Planning: Support planning efforts related to media interviews, conferences, priority travel, firm milestones, and other high-visibility engagements. Assist the broader Public Affairs team during critical communications moments, particularly those involving senior executives (e.g., quarterly earnings, major announcements, or firm milestones).
  • Messaging Support: Draft press releases, ensuring consistency and clarity across all communications.
  • Briefing and Preparation: Contribute to the executive briefing process, including ownership of briefing materials for media interviews and public-facing engagements, working closely with stakeholders across Public Affairs and Blackstone business units.
  • Media Monitoring: Collaborate with the broader Public Affairs team to monitor media coverage and provide insights to executives.
  • Internal Communications: Support the firm’s internal communications approach and craft clear, engaging messaging for company-wide updates, announcements, and events.
  • Event Coordination: Staff executives for select interviews and events, coordinating with internal Blackstone groups and external parties on preparation, follow-up, and review processes (e.g., legal and stakeholder approvals).
  • Social Media Management: Lead content creation and review processes.

Qualifications:

Candidates should exhibit strong organizational and communications skills and an interest in public relations. Candidates should be self-motivated, confident, team-oriented individuals who work well in dynamic environments. Strong writing, analytical, research, evaluation and presentation skills are key, in addition to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Well organized, self-starter with capability to work on multiple initiatives and prioritize
  • Knowledge of digital communication strategies and social media platforms
  • Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)

Expected annual base salary range:

$85,000 - $115,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
