Job Description
Everett Ship Repair is the Pacific Northwest’s Premiere Ship Repair Facility. Founded in 2019, Everett Ship Repair offers vast ship repair capabilities from its facility in Everett, Washington, including repair, maintenance, and conversion servicess. We are seeking a Warehouse Attendant who would be responsible for receipt of incoming materials to include documentation, tracking, storage, and retrieval of items received as well as efficient shop manufacturing workflow by ensuring that company-owned tools and supplies are stored, assigned, serviced and accounted in a manner that meets the shipyard’s needs. This position will serve a variety of stakeholders including the frontline production worker, Finance, and Facilities Management. Reports to the Purchasing team and keeps management apprised of unique situations as they arise and potential solutions.
What You will Do
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products.
- Move materials to and from delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
- Identify and label materials and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory.
- Operate trucks, forklifts, dollies, and other equipment to move freight, parts, and materials.
- Ensure that all products received are in proper quantity and in good condition.
- Manage and organize the in-house stock and keep it at appropriate levels.
- Maintain warehouse in a safe, neat, and orderly fashion.
- Interact with vendors regarding returns, back orders and shipping/receiving of parts for or from repair.
- Alert Purchasing and Manufacturing Operations management of issues of under-supply or excess supply that may impact project progress or profitability.
- Support shipping and receiving function by assist in arranging outbound freight via our truck, vendor, trucking carrier, UPS, Fed-EX ETC.
- Assisting in coordinating inbound deliveries.
- Helps investigate or search for/locate lost or misplaced materials.
- Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of materials, manually or using computer.
- Take proactive measures to facilitate accurate, timely, and efficient storage and appropriately secure access to parts and materials.
- Perform inventory and audit support activities in support of Purchasing and Finance audit that may involve materials and parts tracking and data entry as directed.
- Provide relief duties on a regular basis and as needed for Tool Room attendant.
- Work as a member of a team demonstrating skills to effectively communicate, adapt, interpret and problem solve.
- Always embrace safety culture and practice safe shipyard work practices and housekeeping
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal clients, suppliers, drivers, and fellow team members.
- Other tasks as needed may arise in our exciting work environment.
What You Bring to Our Team
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Valid Washington State driver's license with clean driving record
- Familiarity and baseline proficiency with MS Office suite and ability to learn Sage Materials Management platform.
- Experience working in a construction or manufacturing.
- Familiar with Marine type parts and equipment.
- Organized, self-disciplined, resourceful, and accountable for delivering on commitments to the customer, internal or external.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to communicate articulately and efficiently with other people within the company
- High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude always.
- Experience in Material Handler or Forklift Operator position
- Ability to lift and carry weights up to fifty pounds.
- Must be able to physically transit all areas of the facility and yard.
- Willingness to work extra hours or non-routine shifts as demanded by construction.
- Ability to work in a largely outdoor environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive lifting, positioning, reaching, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing of parts, equipment.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screens in background check, drug test, and physical skills test.
What Additional Things Would Distinguish You
- Forklift certified.
- Ability to drive flat-bed truck.
- Previous exposure to and proficiency with shipyard systems.
- Working knowledge of various hand tools, materials and equipment used in shipyard repair operations.
- Proficient with the use of hand and power tools
- Bilingual -- Spanish speaking.
