The Facilities & Maintenance Manager position is a full-time exempt position with benefits and a preferred hiring range of $34.10 - $37.50 per hour (equivalent to $70,928 - $78,000 annually); however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
In this position, you’ll perform complex professional, technical, and administrative tasks while overseeing and leading a team responsible for the department's grounds, operations, and activities. The selected candidate will be committed to continuous professional development through self-directed education, networking, and participation in relevant courses, training sessions, and events.
Additionally, the Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for:
- Maintaining and managing buildings and grounds, including preventive maintenance, operations, renovations, and housekeeping functions.
- Reviewing and recommending actions on improvements, environmental sustainability, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with the Director of Transportation and other supervisors on fiscal planning, contracted services for facility and grounds maintenance and cleaning, building security, pest control, specialized equipment maintenance, and repairs.
- Managing and directing resources effectively in response to natural and human-made disasters.
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, construction management, facility management, or other related field and considerable (3-5 years) operational experience in facility and grounds maintenance in a supervisory capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to meet this requirement.
- Considerable (3-5 years) experience managing the operations of the repair and maintenance of commercial facilities, including but not limited to housekeeping, grounds, and contractual services.
- Considerable (3-5 years) experience in an operational environment leading and supervising a staff team with a combination of technical, administrative, and trades functions.
- Moderate (1-3 years) experience in implementing and managing sustainable practices or resource conservation programs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Availability to respond to after-hours issues as needed.
