
Regional Construction Manager - Sheet Metal
Job Description
General Job Description:
In collaboration with other department managers and under the supervision of the Director of Construction Operations, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of the Sheetmetal Field, Area and Regional Superintendents across multiple states.

Mega Project Site Superintendents, Sheet Metal
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all field leadership to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goals
Operations
Assist direct reports with
Resource management
Promotions of leadership positions.
Proper team selection for all regional construction operations, including assignment of General Foreperson
Project execution strategies and scheduling
Resolution of issues, challenges and obstacles
Understanding and execution of QA/QC protocols
Implementation of Safety Department’s protocols
Conduct regular department meetings (i.e.: Superintendent, General Foreperson and Foreperson meetings)
Prepare for and attend pre-bid & post-bid interviews
Ensure department’s participation in project kick-off, mid-job and wrap-up meetings
Review and track project labor budgets
Provide input to toolroom manager on standard tools required for trade specific use and promote responsible use and return of company issued tools and equipment
Engage with employer groups and labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputes
Understand and ensure compliance with applicable union Collective Bargaining Agreements
Assist Director in department budget and financial planning
Knowledge of current building and mechanical code
Submittal standards library and submittal creation process
Assist Director in department fleet management
Other tasks and duties as assigned by Director and/or upper management
Strategic Planning
Understand and support the strategic plan and corporate vision
Continual development and implementation of processes and procedures to achieve high level quality, productivity and efficiency across field operations
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction operations (ie: installations, materials, equipment, personnel)
Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all field personnel in an effort to mitigate risk and reduce liability
Personnel Management
Adhere to and promote company policies
Instill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the department
Recruit, promote and retain highly skilled personnel across field operations
Mentor, train and develop top performing supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs and avoid gaps in strong leadership
Collaboration
Create and foster collaborative relationships among leadership teams across varying departments and locations
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet company growth objectives
Work closely with Project and Sales Managers on bid strategies and current projects regarding
Customer relations and expectations
Labor Resource availability
Labor budgets
Project execution opportunities
Potential project challenges
Collaborate with department managers locally and in other offices to share experience to develop standards, align processes, and leverage resources
Position Requirements:

Strong industry knowledge
Excellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic
Effective communicator at all levels of the business
Experience and deep understanding of each of the trades (sheet metal, pipe fitting, process piping, plumbing, electrical controls, electrical, site utilities, start-up)
20+ years of experience in Construction leading projects
Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO currently utilizes
MS Office: Word, Excel, Project
Google Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Forms
Others: Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, Box
Proficient in English.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
Knowledge of:
local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites
Additional Skills/Abilities Preferred, but Not Required:
Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architecture
Experience in remote training softwares and technologies used within best-in-class organizations
Software experience:
CRM/PM Platforms: Bidtracer
Collaboration: Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, PlanGrid
Design/Detailing: Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, Navisworks),
Spooling: Revit
CAD/CAM: E-volve, Trimble
Proficient in Spanish

25-50% of the time to and from the primary office to regional branch offices.

This position is for signatory employees and wages will be aligned with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.
