The schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday from 10am - 6:30pm

The Facilities Cleaning Lead is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting custodial operations across Thorne’s facilities to ensure all areas are maintained in a clean, safe, organized, inspection-ready, and compliant condition. This role partners closely with the Facilities Cleaning Supervisor to prioritize daily operations, support scheduling, train team members, and oversee custodial processes across both buildings.

The Facilities Cleaning Lead serves as a working lead and is expected to actively participate in daily cleaning operations while promoting efficiency, accountability, teamwork, and high cleaning standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining cGMP-compliant environments, supporting employee spaces, coordinating uniform management processes, monitoring facility supply levels, and ensuring operational readiness throughout the facilities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of leading by example. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, spending extended periods on their feet, and performing physically active work throughout the day.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Facilities Cleaning Supervisor to prioritize, assign, and oversee daily custodial operations across both facilities.
  • Support and lead custodial staff to ensure facilities remain clean, safe, organized, and inspection-ready.
  • Maintain cleaning schedules, procedures, and compliance standards in alignment with cGMP expectations.
  • Perform and support general custodial duties including cleaning restrooms, break rooms, stairwells, carpeted areas, entrances, and high-traffic spaces.
  • Men’s and women’s restrooms are required to be cleaned daily. This includes situations where, for example, female staff are required to clean men’s restrooms or male staff clean women’s restrooms to ensure full coverage and compliance with facility standards.
  • Restock facility and cafeteria supplies throughout both buildings.
  • Coordinate and support uniform and gowning supply processes for employees.
  • Monitor supply inventory levels and support vendor coordination as needed.
  • Operate floor cleaning equipment and support routine floor and carpet maintenance.
  • Promote workplace safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support onboarding, training, and day-to-day guidance of custodial team members.
  • Utilize basic computer systems and spreadsheets to support training, scheduling, and inventory tracking.


WHAT YOU NEED

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of facilities, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience required. 
  • Previous experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Food Manufacturing, Hospital, Hotel, Restaurant, or School environments strongly preferred.
  • Prior leadership or lead experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning standards, workplace organization, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience working in regulated or inspection-ready environments preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency required, including experience with Excel spreadsheets and learning management systems.
  • Ability to build, develop, motivate, and engage teams while working cross-functionally.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to positively engage others.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing physical work throughout the shift.
    Ability to wear steel-toed shoes and safely work in warehouse and manufacturing environments as needed.
