Job Summary:
For our CFO Renewables team, we are seeking a Financial Reporting and Accounting Sr that will contribute to the delivery of quality accounting and reporting support to management. This position will report to the Accounting Manager for Renewables within the department of the CFO Renewables North America.
The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable – review proper coding and processing of invoices by external service provider, ensure timely approval, preparation of urgent payment proposals, manage payment inquiries, monitor approval status, overdue payments
Perform and oversee monthly and annual closing process in collaboration with the external service provider, including posting of journal entries, variance and trending analysis, account reconciliations and IFRS reporting to Repsol parent company
Prepare external partnership reporting including US GAAP/IFRS financial statements and other reporting as requested by the partner
Preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS
Assist with external and internal audits
Perform account analysis and research with ad-hoc projects as required
Assist with the research and documentation of GAAP and IFRS technical accounting issues
Liaise with Asset Management and Planning & Performance Management to ensure proper internal reporting and forecasting
Assist with design, implementation and testing of internal controls
Accurately manage intercompany transactions
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work for any US employer, without the need for work visa sponsorship now or in the future.
4+ years' experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus
Big 4 experience is a plus
IFRS & GAAP experience is a plus.
Expertise in use of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge and experience with SAP systems highly preferred
Ability to learn new tasks quickly
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Deadline driven and ability to plan ahead to ensure smooth close processes
Excellent verbal/written communications skills
Prior work experience in the renewables sector is a plus
