Senior Account Executive - Auckland, NZ
The Senior Account Executive plays a key role in driving revenue growth by securing new business from partners, prospects, and existing clients. The role is Auckland based working out of an office with a small team of talented Genesys colleagues.
This role requires a solid grasp of both direct and indirect sales strategies to maximize revenue. Experience in selling business solutions, especially in areas like Customer Experience Platforms, AI Applications, CRM applications and Cloud technologies is highly valued.
You will need to address and solve the business challenges of prospects and customers by aligning their needs with our cutting-edge Genesys solutions. Responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of opportunities, accounts, and partnerships across various industries and sizes, you will be tasked with specializing in one or more industry verticals. The role involves growing revenue from an existing named customer case as well as new business pursuits.
Your mission will be to deeply understand and become an expert in the specific business challenges of these verticals, enabling you to design and offer tailored solutions that directly address the unique issues faced by each industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage client relationship through all phases of the sales cycle
Conduct one-on-one and/or group sales presentations
Responsible for tracking customer and opportunity information, forecasts and reports in CRM
(Salesforce)
Embrace cutting-edge sales methodologies including social selling and predictive analytics. Genesys
supports these strategies through access to industry-leading tools and comprehensive data analytics
to not only meet but exceed sales targets.
Responsible for contract signoff working in conjunction with the legal department
Manage relationships with existing Channel Partners
Responsible for new Business Development through prospecting, qualifying and selling software
solutions and services using both Direct and Indirect sales efforts
Identify customer needs and effectively understand and respond to customer objections
Connect client’s business objectives with Genesys offerings and solutions
Retain current customer base and expand footprint through cross/up sell opportunities
Effectively sell a broad portfolio of products across a wide range of industries
Be proactive in all aspects of opportunity development
Establish yourself as a ‘Trusted Advisor’ to the prospect or customer
Bring net new and innovative ideas to both the internal team and the customer
Demonstrate a commitment to excellence (i.e. strong business acumen)
Build specific industry expertise in your assigned industry vertical
Strategically plan how to maximise the revenue opportunities within your assigned vertical.
Ad hoc duties as required by Management
Required Qualifications:
5 to 8+ years previous relevant business-to-business experience with a strong record of success and
meeting expectations
Enterprise software or Customer Experience industry experience(s) is a plus
Excellent objection handling and negotiating abilities
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work alongside multiple team members
Strong time-management and organization skills
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple streams of work simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly resourceful when need to overcome barriers and objections
Proven record of meeting/exceeding established goals
Ability to communicate with all levels within customer/prospect’s organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience selling AI-driven, cloud-based, or SaaS solutions
Familiarity with sales methodologies such as Challenger, TAS, or similar frameworks
Experience working within the public sector vertical
Technical aptitude with the ability to understand and articulate complex solution architectures
Demonstrated success in building and scaling partner ecosystems
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
