Flour Mill (KEY) Operator (3rd Shift) – Decatur, IL
East Plant - ADM Nutrition
This is a full time, hourly position.
Starting Pay: $32.84/hr plus $1.90 shift differential when applicable.
Shift(s) Available: Must have ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice as needed. The shift schedule includes an 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shift on a rotational schedule (i.e., seven-day rotational).. Availability to work weekends is a requirement.

Position Summary:
The Key Operator is an operator within the Flour Mill manufacturing plant. The Key Operator is responsible for safely operating all Flour Mill equipment per-standard operating procedures (SOPs) and following quality procedures. Conduct job activities and manage safe operations. A good growth role and succession plan for those desiring to be production supervisors in the future.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Ensure product quality expectations are met.
  • Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
  • Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
  • Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate your key process indicator performance.
  • Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
  • Required to work overtime as specified by management.
  • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
Work Duties and Required Skills
  • Responsible for operating the field equipment in assigned plant. Assisting with operations with board operators and supervision.
  • Obtaining field samples.
  • Responsible for conducting building walkthroughs and reporting/troubleshooting any conditions or concerns with the operations team on shift.
  • Assist Supervision with Lock-Out-Tagout activities.
  • Accurate reporting with necessary paperwork and administrative tasks. 
  • Notify Lead supervision if any out-of-spec quality conditions exist.
  • Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues within the Flour Mill department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
  • At times, overtime will be required.

Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Desired Experience:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with large manufacturing equipment 
  • Experience operating equipment using HMI control systems
On-The-Job Training Requirements:
  • New colleagues will need to undergo on-the-job training to acquire skills and certifications, which will be assessed according to established standards
  • Complete ADM safety, food safety, quality, and environmental training
  • Participate in company planner operations training
  • Equipment training may include but not limited to JLP, Forklift, Non-DOT Truck, Reach Lift, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.
