We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to support the delivery of fortnightly payroll for a newly acquired New Zealand manufacturing organisation. This role is ideal for someone who understands payroll deeply, thinks critically about risk, and enjoys partnering across the business to deliver accurate, compliant outcomes. This is an office‑based position, requiring attendance onsite four days per week.
Your role
Acting as the payroll subject matter expert using ADP Payforce payroll solution and Workday timekeeping solution.
Managing user acceptance testing, parallel runs, and reconciliations.
Working closely with HR, Finance, IT, and vendors to deliver accurate payroll outcomes.
Identifying payroll risks early and ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
Supporting leaders and employees through payroll‑related change.
Support the Payroll and Benefits Manager as required.
Your experience
Strong hands‑on payroll experience in a complex environment
Excellent attention to detail and data analytical skills
Confidence working with cross‑functional teams and vendors
Strong verbal and written communication
A calm, professional approach when working under pressure
Essential:
7 years’ experience in a payroll/human resources environment.
Payroll or Finance qualification or equivalent.
Microsoft Excel - Intermediate to Advanced skill level
Desirable
Payroll System: ADP Payforce and Workday Timekeeping
