SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Physician Assistant will perform assessments and manage arrhythmia/ EP patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. Responsibilities include:
Manage and evaluate patients including preoperative assessments, post-op assessments, patients in device clinic, EP clinic, routine outpatient follow-ups and consultations and inpatient consultations; recognize post EP procedure complications
Coordinate and facilitate the patient ambulatory process for those undergoing procedures, including schedule EP procedures, obtain consent for procedures, provide patient education and post-operative care
Collaborate and communicate with Attending Physicians and clinical team regarding patient care
Order & interpret tests and discuss management with patients
Interrogate/ check Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators and Pacemakers and interpret data to provide clinical management and make appropriate adjustments as needed
Triage sick calls and address patient phone calls and questions
Authorize medication refills and prescription requests, including prior authorizations if needed
Perform Discharges on hospital EP patients with appropriate care, follow-up and medications
Assess inpatient arrhythmia consults, round with physician and coordinate patient care
Provide EP clinical related documents such as clearance, disability, etc. for patient or referring teams
SCHEDULE: 7 AM-5:30 PM, days vary.
This position requires flexibility to work across multiple campuses, including Moses, Weiler, and the Hutchinson Metro Center. Travel between sites may be required as dictated by operational needs, patient care coordination, physician support activities, and programmatic responsibilities.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree required, Masters preferred
Coverage for both inpatient and outpatient sites of service as operationally necessary
Certified by the National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Physician Assistant License by New York State
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
