Responsible for enterprise implementation, maintenance, and end-user hardware and software support services for clinical departments such as Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Sleep and EMU. A Brief Overview
Responsible for enterprise implementation, maintenance, and end-user hardware and software support services for clinical departments such as Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology, Sleep and EMU. Interacts with other Information Technology groups, as well as clinical departments and physicians, in order to provide service for requests, projects and trouble calls. What you will do
  • Provides support to internal and external customers on site, by phone or by screen sharing to analyze reported incidents or requests resulting in a successful repair.
  • Provides maintenance of new existing hardware and software through established maintenance procedures.
  • Assists in monitoring the Imaging Team Help Desk queue.
  • Participates in project planning, analysis, kick off and implementation.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining proper departmental documentation.
  • Participates in research and development of new hardware and software solutions.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - Associates Degree
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Biomedical Engineering
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Computer sciences
  • Preferred - Technical Degree or Diploma

Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - Related Experience 5-7 years
  • Preferred - Substitutions Allowed: In lieu of an Associate's degree, the candidate must have eight (8) years of hands experience on computer hardware and software support experience OR six (6) years of hands on computer hardware and software support experience plus two (2) years or more clinical experience as a working Radiology or Cardiology technician or higher.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of PACS workflow and experience directly supporting computer hardware and software, implementation and support.
  • Exhibits strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supporting a large number of devices in a complex and diverse environment.
  • Ability to work closely with other technical resources to analyze, maintains, and administers enterprise systems and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in the highly specialized field of systems software and to master the understanding of complex computer hardware and software.
  • Full technical knowledge of all phases of software analysis and programs.
  • Advanced ability to take initiative and exercise independent, judgment occasionally to resolve problems.

Supervision Provided by this Position
  • There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to interpret equipment status indicators to determine appropriate operating condition. Indicators may include visual and/or auditory techniques or cues.
  • Must occasionally use small hand tools and be able to manipulate small equipment components such as computer cables, screws, nuts, or other fastening devices as usually found on computer equipment.
  • Will occasionally experience stressful working conditions due to tight project schedules and hardware/software problems.
  • Subject to regular periods of repetitive hand motion in the operation of computer terminals or other equipment.
  • The physical activities of this position may include crouching, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
  • Must provide own transportation.
  • Subject to call back at all times.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
