Albemarle Corporation seeks a Capital Project Procurement Manager in Charlotte, NC
Duties:
- Align high-level procurement management strategies and plans to agreed-upon project success factors.
- Perform procurement-related activities for capital project execution including sourcing, purchasing, and contracting management for capital investment projects.
- Develop project-specific detailed go-to-market project procurement strategy and procurement plans, organize alignment with project team for any updates on the strategy and plans, ensure strictly adherence to the aligned strategy and working plans.
- Ensure that required deviations of the prescribed rules are approved internally and audit-proof documented.
- Control procurement cost, schedule, and quality of equipment for projects execution, collaborate with category management team to ensure the procurement work is fully aligned with global category management strategy.
- Align key procurement activities and decisions with project stakeholders and regional procurement management.
- Align sourcing strategy with the internal customers and stakeholders. Collect inputs from stakeholders to develop project bidder list until proper approval.
- Track procurement progress, completeness, and traceability of related documents.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Sanction Screen Check for suppliers is well performed.
- Leverage existing category agreements, supplier discovery, management, and engagement.
- Manage and perform bidder qualification process, get proper approval following ALB’s bidder qualification procedure.
- Organize single source justification if a single source request is raised from stakeholders, review, challenge and get aligned considering the specific project nature.
- Ensure confidentiality agreement in place before bidding activities.
- Develop project procurement package activities plan, budget/funding management, maintain the dynamic plan and work and drive the stakeholders to work for procurement deliver on the plan.
- Compile technical requests of RfQ and commercial request into inquiry package, manage issue to the market to the bidders from the approved bidder list on project schedule plan.
- Facilitate technical, commercial reviews, negotiations, contracting, approval workflows.
- Facilitate execution of capital procure-to-pay processes.
- Assist in change order management.
- Perform project procurement close out, capture lessons learned, provide feedback of performance of suppliers after Project completion, proper handover of the Life Cycle Asset Maintenance Data, from project team over to Operations/Maintenance team
May work from home 2 days per week. Must work at employer’s office in Charlotte, NC other days.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, or a related field, plus 10 years of experience in a related occupation. The position also requires experience in all of the following:
- 10 years of large and sustaining capital procurement planning and execution in heavy industrial applications (chemical/specialty chemicals, mining, oil and gas) including equipment, materials and service categories (contractors and consultants including EPC/EPCM scenarios)
- 7 years of experience in Capital Project planning, including forecasting third-party spend, developing strategic sourcing strategies and business cases for key equipment, materials and services categories.
- 7 years of Project Delivery & Contracting Strategies experience with EPC/EPCM and other delivery models, contract structures, and risk allocation to ensure procurement supports successful capital project execution.
- 7 years of Capital Project Supply Market experience in global and local markets for engineering, construction, and long-lead capital equipment, including supplier capabilities, cost drivers, and technology trends.
- 5 years of experience in advanced data analytics, contract lifecycle management, supplier relationship management, and managing negotiations.
- 5 years of Financial, Risk & Lifecycle Cost Analysis experience, evaluating bids and supplier proposals based on lifecycle economics, project cash flow impacts, and risk management to protect project budgets and schedules.
- 3 years of experience with procurement technology platforms and point solutions
