Your New Role and Responsibilities

As a talented GIS Software Engineer, you will rapidly grow and progress in a multidisciplinary environment and influential Federal Government portfolio. Working in an agile development team, you will:

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and innovate with our talented cross-functional and cross-domain teams on compelling software solutions, constantly refining our approach and methods 

  • Design software, develop/prototype, and investigate Enterprise Software systems and the latest UI/UX technologies and frameworks

  • Gather requirements and design against both business and technical requirements

  • Contribute to the management and building of DevOps/Agile process and tools

  • Conduct system integration, testing and release/deployment

  • Coordinate agile life cycle activities and ensure progress is being made with objectives

  • Document your design and engineering work

  • Engage effectively with the Systems Engineering team, management, and other teams across the Technical Systems areas.

About You and What You'll Bring

  • Experience implementing ArcGIS in large-scale enterprise environments, or relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, IT, computer science (or similar) with supporting industry experience

  • Proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to understand business needs, identify issues, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers

  • Strong technical capability in Python (essential), with exposure to geospatial application development and Java, including familiarity with FOSS frameworks

  • Experience developing and deploying large-scale solutions, including modern UX technologies (React, Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML), RHEL environments, and infrastructure as code

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline security clearance.
