We are seeking a talented .Net Engineer to join our team and contribute to further develop and support the Marsh applications portfolio, such as Affinity or Health & Benefits.This role will be based in Cluj, Romania. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
THE ROLE AND YOUR MISSION
As a Software Engineer at Marsh McLennan, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of performant, highly scalable software solutions. This is a hands-on role that requires the candidate to work collaboratively in an extended team where a self-starter, delivery-focused attitude is highly appreciated.
We will count on you to:
- Code, test and debug software programs and meet project plan goals under limited guidance from senior software developers.
- Work independently to design and develop small technical modules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software engineering issues.
- Provide technical support to clients on existing problems escalated as appropriate.
- Monitor trends and results from technical support calls to advise senior team members on performance of existing systems.
- Act as a technical resource for other analysts on the team.
- Work with team to develop project plans and communicate software development plans.
- Perform coding to written Agile stories with unit tests adhering to coding standards and guidelines
- Follow engineering best practices and concepts within your organisation
- Be an involved member of the MMC Technology community – contribute, collaborate, and learn
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND VALUES
What you need to have:
- 1-3 years of experience
- Good experience in .Net framework, especially using VB.Net (or C#)
- Basic experience with MS SQL (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers)
- The ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional environment
- Strong Self-starter and involved squad contributor
