You make it your own by turning obstacles into action. By owning your opportunity at GDIT, you’ll play an important role in providing the technologies and services that millions of healthcare professionals depend on, every day.

Our work depends on a Data Analyst / Tableau Developer joining our team to support the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB). The NPDB improves the quality of health care by encouraging State licensing boards, hospitals and other health care entities, and professional societies to identify and discipline those who engage in unprofessional behavior; and to restrict the ability of physicians, dentists, and other health care practitioners from moving from State to State without disclosure of malpractice and adverse action history.  In this role, you will work within a collaborative Agile environment, partnering with program stakeholders and engineering teams to translate mission requirements and research objectives into impactful data visualizations and insights.

This is a fully remote, US Based position. Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. This includes background verification and fingerprinting.

HOW A DATA ANALYST / TABLEAU DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Analyze large datasets from data warehouses and relational databases to support research, reporting, and program insights.

  • Translate business and mission requirements into intuitive, actionable visualizations.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support data modeling, data pipelines, and reporting solutions.

  • Present analytical findings and dashboards to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Continuously refine dashboards based on user feedback and evolving mission needs.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, information systems, or related field.

  • 2–4+ years of experience in data analytics or related field.

  • 1–2+ years of hands-on experience with Tableau dashboard development.

  • Strong SQL/PLSQL skills, including experience with complex queries, views, and Common Table Expressions (CTEs).

  • Understanding of data structures, relational databases, and business intelligence concepts.

  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. This includes background verification and fingerprinting.

  • Ability to support occasional travel as needed (e.g., onboarding requirements).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis.

  • Experience using Jira and Confluence for Agile project tracking and documentation.

  • Experience supporting healthcare or public health data initiatives.

  • Familiarity with data quality validation, governance, and reporting standards.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong communication translating technical insights to stakeholders.

  • Collaborative and proactive.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Strong presentation skills.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling visual stories for diverse audiences.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, accurate deliverables.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:

  • Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.

  • 401K with company match.

  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.

  • Professional growth opportunities, including paid education and certifications.
