Description
Machine Operators are responsible for understanding and adhering to LEM’s Quality Management System and customer expectations to properly set up and operate a production machine in accordance with Leading Edge’s procedures and guidelines ensuring that product outputs meet customer requirements before product is released.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position requires an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Comply with all quality system requirements and specifications
- Comply with all safety system requirements and wear proper PPE and uniforms
- Perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Conduct machine/equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
- Run and document all calibration tests and procedures as required
- Maintain all assigned machine/equipment according to procedures
- Properly setup and operate assigned machine/equipment according to all procedures
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine operations
- Assist in other areas of the facility as needed.
- Efficiently cut and prepare parts according to all procedures and project specifications
- Identify and locate required materials
- Maintain and document proper material tracking throughout project
- Maintain correct time keeping throughout project
- Setup and safely operate grinder
- Setup and safely operate overhead crane
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ensure that product outputs meet the specified requirements before product is released

Work Experience

- High School Diploma / GED
- Knowledge of safety techniques and terminology
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to follow instruction
- Ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirements
- Understand basic mathematical principles and have knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, and counts
- Read and operate a tape measure and caliper
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid work ethic and pride in workmanship
- Effective verbal, written, and communication skills
- Mechanical skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
