TelevisaUnivision Local Media is seeking a dynamic, versatile, and passionate Anchor/Reporter to join our newsroom in Los Angeles.
The ideal candidate is a strong journalist and storyteller who excels in both the field and at the anchor desk. This person thrives in breaking news situations, delivers compelling live reports, connects with audiences across platforms, and can seamlessly transition between reporting, anchoring, and digital storytelling. The role requires excellent news judgment, strong writing skills in Spanish, and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in fast-moving situations.
About You
You are a newsroom leader who is energized by breaking news, enterprise reporting, and serving the community. You are comfortable anchoring major coverage, reporting live from the field, conducting impactful interviews, and delivering accurate information across television, streaming, digital, and social platforms. You are calm under pressure, quick on your feet, and committed to journalistic excellence.
Your Day-to-Day
- Anchor newscasts and special coverage with confidence, credibility, and strong editorial judgment.
- Report live from the field on breaking news, major events, and enterprise stories.
- Develop, research, write, and produce compelling stories for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
- Conduct interviews and gather information from a wide range of sources.
- Collaborate with producers, assignment editors, photographers, and digital teams to deliver comprehensive coverage.
- Provide clear and accurate reporting during developing news situations.
- Create content for social media and digital platforms that extends the reach of newsroom coverage.
- Represent the station at community events and public appearances.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum three years of reporting and/or anchoring experience in Spanish-language television news; major market experience preferred.
- Exceptional live reporting and ad-lib skills.
- Strong writing, storytelling, and interviewing abilities.
- Experience covering breaking news and major community issues.
- Familiarity with digital publishing, social media, and multiplatform storytelling.
- Working knowledge of newsroom systems and non-linear editing.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
- Deep understanding of the Hispanic community and issues impacting local audiences.
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as news coverage requires.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be willing to work from the Los Angeles office.
- Employment and education will be verified.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
- Must become a member of SAG-AFTRA.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to eight (8) hours, and ability to carry and operate field camera equipment.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $160,000. Compensation is subject to the applicable union collective bargaining agreement.
