Job Description
The Assessments Manager is responsible for the leadership, governance, vendor management, service and stakeholder satisfaction, cost control and review of assessment practices across the OML Assessment Centre.
Responsible for the design and implementation of the Assessment Strategy to ensure that the Assessment Centre of Excellence proactively meets the needs of the OML businesses. Driving the integration of assessment practices and information into other human capital practices.
Key Result Areas
Identifies future assessment trends and opportunities to transform the impact that the assessment function has on the business
Articulates, manages and implements the assessment strategy, framework and methodology across the OML businesses
Manages the assessment budget
Acts as a partner to the HC community and business stakeholders through proposing and implementing assessment initiatives that are aligned to HC priorities and best practice
Manages strategic business relationships with HCEs and colleagues in the Centre of Excellence (proactively identifying assessment needs in segments and the talent value chain)
Designs assessment solutions that balance the employee experience, human capital priorities and business needs
Empowers and builds HR capability to achieve objectives of the Centre of Excellence
Understands the full HR value chain and has experience integrating assessments into HC streams
Leads, manages and develops OML Assessment Centre team
Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of assessment services across OML businesses
Leverages the use of assessment data and technologies to develop deeper insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the business
Ongoing research, review and refinement of OML Assessment Framework to meet the needs of OML businesses
Overseeing the use of predictive analytics and trends analysis to support OML business partners in human capital decision-making
Ongoing research into new developments and initiatives in the assessment industry
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required
Master’s Degree in Psychology/Industrial Psychology (prerequisite)
Valid registration as an Industrial Psychologist / Psychologist with the HPCSA (prerequisite)
At least five years’ working experience in an assessment centre environment (preferably at a similar level) of which two years should be in managing the daily operations of an Assessment Centre.
Experience in partnering with and advising Line Managers and building HR capability around assessment governance and practice.
Experience in designing, refining and implementing assessment frameworks and strategies at an organisational level.
Experience in managing and leading a team of Psychometrists and Psychologists
