Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This is a key position in the day-to-day operations of the Company. The Project Engineer gathers, tracks, and analyzes project financial and productivity data to produce accurate and actionable information to individual projects teams. This position rolls up this information to the business level to provide information on current performance and financial outlooks.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing accurate and actionable financial and productivity information through direct engagement with field projects and personnel.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pro-actively and cooperatively engage field personnel to gather needed data including field verification
- Analyzing data collected to identify trends and forecast financial health and outlook of projects and the region
- Compare forecasted information vs. actual information to continuously improve accuracy and quality of information provided to projects and the region
- Use of historical data to benchmark performance
- Assist in managing change orders and other project accounting functions
- Analyze financial data, analyze and explain variances and support management decision processes
- Ability to prepare, review and interpret project schedules
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two to five years of related industrial experience
- Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills;
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry or relevant industry knowledge
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections;
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organization levels, including senior management;
- Ability to investigate, analyze critical situations in a non-emotional manner is vital;
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, and problem-solving methodology;
- Strong excel skills;
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
