The Associate Vice President, UHealth Pharmacy Services assumes responsibility for providing continuous leadership and direction for the operational, clinical, financial, and administrative functions associated with the safe preparation and delivery of medications in all service areas.


CORE JOB FUNCTIONS


1. Demonstrates advanced expertise in the strategic management of pharmacy and infusion services.

2. Uses experience and expertise to create a management plan for the continuous growth of the applicable product line(s).

3. Supports and facilitates creativity, innovation, and cost-effective continuous improvement efforts as they relate to quality of services rendered to patients.

4. Acts as the liaison between the Pharmacy and Nursing departments.

5. Develops and maintains systems for the continuous development and implementation of pharmacy

6. practice and care infusion standards.

7. Supervises and coordinates all pharmaceutical training for nursing and pharmacy staff.

8. Monitors the utilization of pharmacy staff and recommends changes to administration.

9. Leads the pharmacy staff recruitment efforts to meet current and future needs.

10. Ensures the presence of appropriate documentation for all agency pharmacists and monitors agency contracts.

11. Ensures the development of comprehensive pharmacy information systems which prioritize the efficiency of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and revenue enhancement.

12. Develops a comprehensive plan for practice-wide pharmaceutical research services.

13. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS


Education:
Doctorate degree - Pharmacy (PharmD) required

Certification and Licensing:

Florida Pharmacy License required

Experience:
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required
