Job Description
What drives you? At the Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC), our research scientists work closely with VDOT to keep people moving through the Commonwealth of Virginia. As part of the VTRC Structures Team, you get to work closely with VDOT engineers to conceive, plan, direct, and conduct complex research projects in your specialty area and provide a solution to problems or an improvement to technology, procedures, practices, processes or specifications for transportation structures. You could influence how VDOT designs, builds, inspects, and maintains bridges, tunnels, and other critical infrastructure. A successful candidate will be proficient in structural design and materials. They will also have an understanding of bridge inspection, testing, or repair. Finally, knowledge of hydraulic structures, structural health monitoring, or finite element analysis is beneficial. Are you ready to be our next VTRC Structures Team Research Scientist?
