Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:
This position performs engineering work related to research, designing, and development of new products and interfacing the control systems related to Genset operation. Functions include:
Key Accountabilities:
- Be the architect for control system platforms
- Leverage global knowledge base to support R&D developments and customized deployments
- Design interfaces between various proprietary hardware (ECU’s, Gen control panels, PLC’s, HMI’s)
- Develop special customer applications with MTU controls system
- Design controls system for R&D programs
- Interface electrical and mechanical applications and systems with the MTU controls system
- Work directly with controls and governor manufacturers to improve functionality and mitigate issues
- Specify, design, validate, and maintain MTU control systems
- Hardware responsibilities: voltage regulators, control panels, engine ECUs, PLC’s, and other protective relays
- Work within a global electrical engineering organization and co-ordinate with global team in respective projects
- Assist all areas of company with controls related issues
- Devise strategic plans for problem resolutions using facts and gathered data
- Involve in development and validation of special customer projects and as required.
Basic Requirements:
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years of experience in Genset manufacturing or similar industry; or 9 years of relevant experience
- Ability to travel to customer and manufactures sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dependable, Creative, Versatile, Flexible and Team Orientated
- Programming: PLC and structure text programming, scripted languages, Boolean/digital logic.
- Device communication: TCP-IP, Modbus, OPC UA and CAN bus
- Power systems: fundamentals, paralleling system management, power electronics
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, line drawings and ladder diagrams
- Devise strategic plans for problem resolutions using facts and gathered data
