Job Description:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee accounting service delivery for multiple client engagements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to reporting timelines across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of associates and seniors, providing guidance, performance feedback, and support to ensure high-quality client deliverables.
  • Review and approve complex client financial statements and reports, including multi-entity and nonprofit engagements, ensuring completeness and alignment with applicable accounting standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client engagements, maintaining strong client relationships, addressing escalations, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Plan and allocate resources across engagements, monitor project progress, manage priorities, and ensure deliverables are completed within budget and timelines.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, and enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee quality control and review processes, ensuring compliance with firm methodologies, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services or technology solutions that could benefit clients and collaborate with leadership on business development initiatives.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to the team on complex issues and ensure consistent application of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technology platforms, ensuring the team adopts relevant tools and maintains strong technical expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field desired.
  • Experience in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, CaseWare, Ramp or other ERP system a plus. Experience and knowledge working within MS Office Suite. Strong desire to provide exceptional client service, has a professional demeanor and the ability to handle matters confidentially
  • Strong and proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll processes, with the ability to oversee complex financial transactions, review financial records, and ensure accurate classification, recording, and reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and client requirements.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to review team deliverables and ensure compliance with established processes, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and ensure timely delivery in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capability to quickly learn and implement new technologies, systems, and processes across the team.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop team members while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Ability to work independently with clients, build strong client relationships, and provide oversight on complex engagements while managing priorities and occasional overtime during peak periods.
