The Advanced Polymer Technologies business is the market leader in Caprolactone and Polycaprolactone products globally. The business is geographically balanced. Within the supply chain team, you will be responsible for helping to prepare and maintaining paperwork associated with the trading and shipment of goods. You will liaise with internal and external customers, suppliers, and our customs agents to coordinate the delivery of goods ensuring that all government and organizational policies are followed. The role will involve a high level of accuracy of documents and timely distribution of these.
Job Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are associated with this job role but are not limited to:
Co-ordinate the shipment of Ingevity product via sea, road or air freight using the SAP transport system
Support the inbound logistics of raw materials purchased on a collection basis
Work with our broker to arrange all import/export declarations for consignments outside the UK (time critical)
Maintain an organized and accessible filing system for audit purposes
Build and manage relationships with transport providers
Conduct strategic business reviews with both the 3PL Warehouse and Ingevity's transport and customs providers
Work with transport providers to ensure all quotes for transport are recorded and received in a timely manner
Maintain freight rates and routes in the SAP system
Collaborate with the Customer Service and Planning team to achieve OTIF targets
Manage freight queries and Invoices through the Coupa system and work with accounts payable and suppliers to ensure timely payment
Support and lead continuous improvement projects related to Supply Chain in line with business goals
Post goods issue packed product from the 3PL and tolling facilities
Problem solve and troubleshoot issues with the 3PL EDI link to Ingevity SAP
Establish implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the 3PL Ingevity's logistics and customs providers
Manage 3PL to maintain high inventory accuracy levels by ensuring routine physical counts are carried out and reconciled in the Ingevity SAP system
Qualifications and DESIRED SKILLS
Experience
Previous experience in a similar role
An understanding of the variety of import/export processes (desirable)
Experience preparing documentation packs including documents such as Bills of lading, customs invoices, commercial invoices, insurance certificates would be advantageous
Previous experience on SAP or S4 (desirable not essential)
European language skills (desirable not essential)
Previous experience working with transport providers (desirable not essential)
Understanding on freight rates and transport routes (desirable not essential)
Team player
Great time management skills
