What is the opportunity?
Your natural flair for sales, resolving complex business challenges and your ability to provide professional relationship management and deliver top-tier financial advice and service is what sets you apart from the crowd. In this role, you contribute directly and will lead a team of service and/or sales professionals to deliver an exceptional end-to-end client onboarding experience for new and existing clients, with advice to proactively identify opportunities to further grow and deepen relationships through strong knowledge of the client’s banking needs. This blend of hands-on client management with team leadership sets the stage for success in delivering on revenue growth, credit quality and operational efficiency.
What will you do?
- Acquire, grow and deepen client relationships through delivery of value-added, tailored financial advice to meet their needs.
- Provide an exceptional client experience by delivering superior business and financial advice by evaluating financial trends, structuring appropriate credit solutions, completing annual reviews, business electronic reviews and customer relationship plans.
- Collaborate and coordinate with partners to develop and execute a client contact strategy to leverage additional opportunities to deepen and grow client relationships.
- Execute Practice Management routines weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually to keep track of progress, documenting what is going well, what needs to be done differently and what help is needed to close gaps and to meet and exceed performance goals
- Coach to and demonstrate Risk and Portfolio Management acumen by effectively managing RBC’s risk exposure within benchmark levels.
- Collaborate with internal partners to exhaust all options to resolve client concerns fully and completely, contributing to an effective and efficient end to end fulfillment.
- Champion digital enablement by becoming an advocate and coaching your team on the RBC Digital Banking applications and other self-serve and electronic banking solutions promoting the cash flow benefits of digital technology to the client while promoting regular usage through educating and guiding clients on how to use it.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree, ideally in Banking, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related field or experience.
- Credit skills and knowledge, including an understanding of risk assessments, financial analyses, credit structuring/solutions, and deal presentations.
- Minimum 3-5 years commercial banking experience or relevant mid-level banking experience.
- New client acquisition skills (i.e., pitching the value proposition, lead generation, initial customer contact and cold calling, asking for referrals)
- Critical thinking, strong decision and problem-solving skills and driven
- Strong communication and time management skills and a Team Player.
- Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e. web based meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications).
Nice-to-have
- MBA considered an asset
- Good knowledge of a broad array of business and personal financial products and services
